I am a UK based fitness & health coach with a natural passion for helping people feel the very best they can.
I’ve always enjoyed sport and keeping fit, but after a prolapsed disk injury in 1999 I had 5 years of pain and generally feeling robbed of my functioning body. The lack of activity, coupled with a stressful and sedentary job led to considerable weight gain and some emotional challenges.
So, after the birth of my daughter in 2005 (age 32) I decided to take things into my own hands and get myself stronger and fitter. That path brought me to the realisation that there was something missing for people who were starting out exercising or had exercised previously and been injured. A place and person that made them feel included, accomplished and a success when it comes to activity.
With that in mind, I embarked on a career change, went back to education and in 2006 Emma Wilson Fitness was born! In the early days my focus was ante & postnatal exercise prescription with focus on helping new Mums get back into shape with Buggyfit.
Since then, my portfolio has continued to expand, offering a wide and varied fitness programme, along with Personal Training for all ages and abilities. From those that need a little TLC to those that want a beasting!
In 2014 (age 41), I started to notice changes in my own body that intrigued me. Feeling thicker around the middle, not getting the same results from my workouts, mood change & sleep patterns. I started to delve deeper into women’s health, hormones & nutrition. My Time for Change was created in 2017, an online wellbeing & weight loss programme for women 35+. Giving women the knowledge so that they can make informed decisions to shift that stubborn unwanted midriff and improve their mental & emotional wellbeing. Perimenopause can be tough at times, but when you know how to handle it, you can be energised, resilient and feel your best self.
With 2020 COVID-19 and lockdown in March, I pivoted my fitness business online too, keeping hold of the strong and loyal following of class go-ers, maintaining a sense of community and now growing my online supporters by streaming LIVE sessions direct to you, wherever you may be!
The vast majority of who I talk to and see are female, but my classes are open to men & women. I like to provide fresh, fun and varied sessions that make you feel you’ve had an effective workout and bang for your buck!
I think that life is about balance, not denying yourself what you enjoy, having a little of what you fancy and I fully believe in work hard, play harder!
